The Rio Olympic Games' opening ceremony will take place at the famous Maracana Stadium in less than 12 hours, with executive producer Marco Balich saying that the curtain-raiser will show the world a wonderful Brazil, featuring Brazilian creativity.

The opening ceremony has three themes: The Garden, Diversity and Joy. However, limited space at the ceremony's venue and a limited budget means that organizers have had to overcome multiple challenges. Some 21 million US dollars have been spent on the show's preparation, about half of London's expenditure four years ago.
