This year's Olympic Summer Games are set to kick off in less than 24 hours in Rio de Janeiro, with key attractions lighting up throughout the continent. Brazil's 'Christ the Redeemer' and Mexico City's iconic 'Angel of Independence' have been lit up green and yellow since Thursday, for the eve of the opening ceremony.
A total of four monuments in Buenos Aires were lit up in yellow and green, including the 'Flower Monument', the 'Monument to the Spaniards' and the Buenos Aires Planetarium. Olympic fever is running high in Latin America as they see to host their second instalment of the global event, with Mexico hosting the summer games back in 1968.
