Supporters of President Erdogan said they welcome the state of emergency declared by the country's authorities. But others have expressed concerns over the measure.
"I think (it's) very positive. We didn't win this country easily and we won't give it away easily to anybody. We will not empty the squares, whatever they say. Let them come, we are here. They can come in planes, helicopters, anything," said Huseyin Arslandag, local resident.
"It will affect everybody. It will affect all of society and all people. I don't know. I hope everything will be better, not worse. We got off lightly. It means that this was necessary. We have nothing to do. What can we do? We will withstand this. We will withstand this for the country," said Bahaattin Tanriyatapan, bus company worker.
