A Chinese Art Film Exhibition has just opened in Tokyo. The 3D Peking Opera film "Farewell My Concubine" was well received by the audience in Japan.
More than 200 officials, and art industry representatives from both China and Japan attended the opening ceremony of the Chinese Art Film Exhibition on Tuesday afternoon. The event opened with "Farewell My Concubine", the first Chinese film using native 3D technology to capture the art of Peking Opera.
The 3D adaptation, based on the classic love story between the legend of Xiang Yu and his beloved concubine, Yu Ji, combines traditional Chinese culture and modern technology.
Three other films will aslo be screened at the event including "Young Love Lost" starring award-winning actor Dong Zijian which runs from Tuesday to Friday.
