Government officials and experts from some of the European and Asian countries have expressed their view on China's performance over the South China Sea issue, saying China has always been respecting others, and looking for dialogue.
"With a mentality of peaceful resolution of conflicts around the planet."
"And this consistent policy of China which we have witnessed in the last decades of, no conflict, respecting everyone, looking for dialogue."
"I think it will continue to maintain a policy of peace and stability for the region and for the world."
"Because not a single country can be happy and can be successful at the expense of the other countries, exploiting, so to say, other countries, making them unhappy, extracting their resources as it was in the colonial era by European powers.
I’ve always been impressed to what extent and to what way the foreign policy of China serves the task for internal stability and internal dynamic economic development. And this consistent policy of China which we have witnessed in the last decades of, no conflict, respecting everyone, looking for dialogue, not bullying the small partners or countries, deserves respect. I think this is the best way, because in my experience, negotiations, talks and mutual respect for looking for balance, are the best solution for any argument, any issue. I believe that any issue including the situation of South China Sea should be resolved on that basis."
"How to modernize this vast country with this huge population? It’s not only evident because of the growth of China, even in terms of global recession. It is evident because China has become a very confident international player. And It’s trying to intervene in the global balance of power in a creative way. With a mentality of peaceful resolution of conflicts around the planet, based on mutual understanding, mutual respect and mutual benefit. This has not been the case with other dominant forces of the planet in recent decades."
"China is much more proactive. It’s everywhere in the world and if China continues to isolate itself from the rest, it’s impossible. I mean that playing some leadership role. Many countries are looking forward to China to be proactive. China always insists bilateral negotiations. And if it is possible to go ahead, I will actually give my, I would say it’s good."
"Well, China is growing and will continue to grow and in order for China to be a responsible member of the global community as it fits a country of its stature, I think it will continue to maintain a policy of peace and stability for the region and for the world. And we have high expectation for the growing role and influence of the Chinese in the coming years."
