Western powers have accused Syria's government of dropping barrel bombs on the town of Daraya hours after it received its first food aid in almost four years. The strikes -- using unguided explosive devices -- came as Arab-Kurdish fighters said they had encircled a stronghold of Islamic State fighters in northern Syria, cutting off a major supply route.
A convoy of trucks carrying food arrived in Daraya late Thursday, delivering rice, sugar, oil and wheat flour to civilians. The government forces bombarded the town shortly after, dropping indiscriminate barrel bombs from helicopters as residents shared food. CCTV correspondent has more on how the UN aid has been overshadowed by renewed fighting.
"But after the aid delivery was completed fighting renewed and sounds of clashes could be heard in the Syria capital, as government forces and rebel pounded each other's positions.
