Wang said bilateral relations have made significant progress since the establishment of the strategic partnership between the two countries. This year marks the 15th anniversary of the founding of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), he said that China will fully support Uzbekistan in hosting an upcoming SCO summit in its capital city of Tashkent.
On the same day, Wang Yi also held talks with his Uzbek counterpart, Abdulaziz Kamilov. Wang said China attaches importance to its relations with Uzbekistan, and has made the Central Asian country a priority in its neighbourhood diplomacy.
China is willing to expand its strategic partnership with Uzbekistan and work with Uzbekistan on the Belt and Road Initiative.
