Two minutes later, the plane left the Greek airspace and vanished from Greek radars.
EgyptAir said the plane lost contact with Egyptian radars at 00:30 GMT when it was 280 kilometers from the Egyptian coast.
The Greek defense minister said the plane had made two sharp turns and dropped more than 25,000 feet before plunging into the sea.
