A Egypt Air passenger jet heading from Paris to Cairo has disappeared from radar. The plane was carrying 59 passengers and 10 crew members.

According to the airline, the aircraft's flight number is M-S 8-0-4. It departed from Paris Charles de Gaulle airport 23-09 Central European Summer Time, or 21-09 GMT. The plane is an Airbus A320. It was travelling at an altitude of 37-thousand feet.

EgyptAir said on Twitter that the aircraft "faded" from radar 16 kilometers inside Egyptian airspace. We will bring you more information as soon as we have it.
