The Democratic People's Republic of Korea announced on Wednesday that the ruling Workers' Party will hold its 7th Congress on May 6 in Pyongyang.
The congress will be the first major conference in 36 years, and the first under the current DPRK top leader Kim Jong Un. The country's official media reports that about 3,000 people are expected to attend the congress, but did not mention how long the conference will last.
Reports say participants will discuss a broad range of issues, such as major political and economic policies and high-level personnel appointments.
