In football, it was an eventful night in the Europa league as Liverpool took on Borussia Dortmund for the second leg of their quarter-final tie. The encounter last week ended in a 1-1 draw and marked Jurgen Klopp's first return to BVB since departing and as the teams took to the field last night neither the German boss or the famous Anfield crowd could of expected what was to unfold.

Before the start of the match the crowd commemorated the 27th anniversary of the Hillsborogh disaster where 96 people lost their lives. Dortmund get off to a flyer. Henrikh Mkhitaryan nods in from close range to give them the lead on 5 minutes. 4 minutes later, the formidable Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang makes it 2-0 Dortmund.
Shortly after the re-start, Reds striker Divock Origi halves the deficit after being put through by James Milner. But Marco Reus restores the Germans two goal cushion just before the hour mark. Then the fight back starts. First Philippe Coutinho curls one in from outside the box to make it 3-2 on 66 minutes.

And then 11 minutes later Mamadou Sakho is able to steer a header into the bottom corner to makes things all square at 3-3. In injury time Dejan Lovren grabs a fourth for the Reds to send Anfield into hysterics and complete a remarkable comeback. 4-3 the final score, Liverpool into the last 4.
"That was pretty cool to watch. So at the end to see them come back like this against a high quality opponent and to win you need a little bit of luck. But I think everybody who was part of the game, who saw the game has to say it was deserved," said Juergen Klopp, Liverpool manager.
Joining Juergen Klopps team in the last 4 are defending Champs Sevilla who needed a 5-4 win on kicks to get past Athletic Bilbao after 2-1 win for the Spanish side levelled things up 3-3 on aggregate. Shakhtar Donestsk thumped Sporting Braga 4 nil to go through 6-1 overall, and a 4-2 win for Villarreal against Sparta Prague means they progress 6-3 on aggregate. The draw for the semis will be later today.
