Blast hits police checkpoint in NW Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) -- A blast occurred at a police checkpoint in northwest Pakistan's Peshawar on Thursday, injuring three policemen, local TV channel reported.

Police sources said that it was a remote-controlled bomb blast. The injured were shifted to nearby Khyber Teaching Hospital for treatment.

The blast took place at a check post near Raigi graveyard on the outskirts of Peshawar, the capital of North West Frontier Province, the private TV Express reported.

Five to six policemen were performing duty at the post when the accident happened, sources said.
