In Pakistan, a suicide bomber has killed at least 16 people in the northwest city of Peshawar. It is the latest attack by militants fighting back against an army offensive in the nearby Afghan border region.
A doctor said 16 bodies had been taken to a Peshawar hospital. He also said 26 people were wounded in the blast. A government official said police were searching a man at the gate of the city's lower court when he detonated explosives on his body.
The explosion came hours after a US drone missile attack killed three suspected militants in North Waziristan. The bombing was the sixth within two weeks in and around Peshawar. The attacks have killed more than 80 people.
