2.So many Americans are cross-border shopping for flu shots that the Vancouver health authority has set up a one-day clinic for Americans only. Due to the shortage of flu vaccine this year, many Americans are afraid of catching the flu, or infecting others. The flu is a common disease that is easily transmitted, and can easily turn into an epidemic if rates of infection become too high.
Americans are flooding into clinics along the U.S.-B.C. border - including one at the Vancouver International Airport - looking for the shots that can inoculate them against the flu virus.

3.What can I do to protect myself if I can't get a flu shot?
• Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze - and dispose of the tissue afterward.
• If you don't have a tissue, cough or sneeze into your sleeve.
• Clean your hands after you cough or sneeze - with soap and warm water, or an alcohol-based hand cleaner.
• If you get the flu, avoid exposing others. Stay home from work or school.
