　　在今天的每週一星當中，我們説的並不是一個歌星或是一個影星，而是一種音樂形式，那就是鄉村音樂，Country Music. Country Music really began in 1927, in Bristol, Tennessee。Bristol是美國西部的一個港口，在田納西州，這裡至今仍然被人們認為是鄉村音樂的發源地。因為在1927年被譽為“鄉村音樂之父”的Jimmie Rodgers開始了鄉村音樂創作和發行，使鄉村音樂從民間傳唱走向了舞臺。

　　你看像現在的鄉村歌手比如Faith Hill, Shania Twain, 都不再是牛仔的形象了，而是非常時尚的外表。而且也很難看到她們抱著吉他邊彈邊唱了。但她們仍然被定義為鄉村歌手。主要的原因是鄉村音樂向著多元化，商業化的方向發展了。但這對於音樂迷來講是個好事，因為這使得鄉村音樂更好聽，更容易接受了。

　　Dixie Chicks就是一隻還保持著這種傳統風格的樂隊。而且她們非常受聽眾的歡迎，在2003年她們捧走了多項Grammy獎。像我們都很熟悉鄉村音樂演奏時都要用到木吉他，而且還有一種樂器也是經常用到的，那就是小提琴。這裡我們説的小提琴與我們平時説的violin還有一點不同他的英文叫做fiddle是一種鄉村小提琴，fiddle。這也是鄉村音樂的一個特徵，所以你在“小甜甜” Britney的音樂中是看不到fiddle的。
