　　（一）玫瑰的花語是 Love or I love you, 其中red roses紅玫瑰代表熱烈的愛

　　passionate love,而yellow roses黃玫瑰代表友愛friendship, white roses白玫瑰代表

　　eternal love永恒的愛，pink roses粉紅色的玫瑰代表初戀first love。

　　（二）康乃馨的花語是admiration，health and energy崇敬、溫馨、健康。

　　（三）百合lily的花語是maiden charm, purity比喻少女的優雅和純潔。在我國，則取百

　　合二字的寓意，象徵百年好和，百事合心。

　　（四）鬱金香tulip的花語是declaration of love愛的宣言。

　　（五）菊花chrysanthemum在西方的花語是Cheerfulness; You're a wonderful friend 快

　　樂或你是一個非常不錯的朋友。在我國的文化中，菊花則象徵著高潔的品格、永不屈服的

　　精神。

　　She’s been a global superstar for over fifteen years, she sings. She dances.

　　And now Madonna has written children’s books – five of them all together. The

　　first, The English Roses hit the shops in more than 100 countries yesterday

　　morning.

　　“昨天上午《英國玫瑰》在一百多個國家的書店上櫃出售。”這裡的hit不是“擊、打”的

　　意思，而是reach, “到達”的意思。另外hit也是“受歡迎的事物，成功”的意思，如

　　That song was a hit last year. “那首歌是去年風行一時的歌曲。”所以這裡使用hit

　　這個詞還含有“成功登陸一百多個國家的書店”的意味。

　　four 11-year-old little London girls, Nicole, Amy, Charlotte and Grace, are

　　envious of a beautiful neighborhood girl named Binah.

　　Nicole, Amy, Charlotte and GraceNicole四個女孩對另一個鄰家女孩Binah非常嫉妒。

　　"As a child, I experienced jealousy and envy toward other girls for any number

　　Valentine’s Day, it’s an important festival in western countries. On this

　　day, lovers will show their love to each other by sending gifts, flowers, cards

　　or chocolate.
