大家看到在今天的演播室裏有一張新的面孔，因為朱華要去執行一項特殊的任務，所以我們請來了楊舒當今天的主持人。歡迎，還是先介紹一下你自己吧。
大家好，我是來自北京廣播學院英語播音主持專業的楊舒，我來自昆明。其實説起來，我和《希望-英語雜誌》還真有不解之緣。
是嗎？怎麼講？
在第三屆希望之星大賽中，我到這裡當過觀眾；
第四屆你就成為我們的比賽選手了，
對，那第五屆之前呢，我就直接到這裡和你搭檔做主持了。
所以説楊舒是我們節目的老朋友了。作為老朋友，你和觀眾們想説點什麼？

歡迎回到週二“娛樂秀”。今天我們要播放的第一首歌是Dixie Chicks演唱的“Travelin' Soldier”。
Dixie Chicks 南方小雞樂隊。他們應該是一支鄉村音樂組合吧？
是的。很多人把Dixie Chicks翻譯成“南方小雞”。Dixie本來指的是美國的南部，因為她們也是來自德克薩斯州，位於美國的南部 Texas。而chick 本來是指小雞，但它還有一個意思 用中國俗話説就是黃毛丫頭。
聽你這麼一説，是不是把Dixie Chicks翻譯成“南方小雞” 是否有點不合適？
不是很合適，因為聽起來有點怪。
那翻譯成“南方女子組合” 也許更貼切一點。所以我想這3個女歌手成心用一種錯誤的複數形式來表明她們不是真正的小雞。因為chick的複數形式應該是chicken，而不是chicks。所以“南方女子組合” 這個名字聽起來更合適一些。
其實，這支樂隊是一支很有影響力的鄉村音樂組合，但同時，她們也是非常積極倡導和平的人士。比如這首 Travelin' Soldier就是關於戰爭題材的在這首歌裏面，她們講了一個非常動人、而且發人深省、同時也是一個很有意義的故事。
故事裏的一個美國男孩，即將奔赴美國戰場。他的心裏充滿了對戰爭的恐懼和無奈。他想為自己找一個心理寄託。一天，他在路上行走的時候遇到了一個女孩子。 他問她，能否把自己對於戰爭的感受寫成信並寄給她。當他到達戰場之後，男孩把自己對於戰爭的所有感受，都記錄下來。通過信件，寄給了這個女孩。但不久後他再也沒有信寄出。而有一天，在遙遠的家鄉，女孩突然聽到了前線的陣亡名單…

這真是一首歌傷感的歌。但是這也證明了南方女子組合精湛的歌唱技藝。是的，這支樂隊在今年贏得了3項格萊美獎，包括最佳鄉村組合，最佳鄉村樂器演奏
最佳鄉村音樂專輯等獎項；同時還獲得了年度最佳專輯獎的提名。是的，很多獎項。不過，我最近聽説她們好像遇到了一起飛行事故。
你相信嗎？她們從這起事故中逃生了。所以這真是narrow escape。narrow escape 用中國話就是九死一生。但中國還有一句話叫做大難不死，必有後福。

A private chartered plane carrying the Dixie Chicks and their crew from Dublin, Ireland to Glasgow, Scotland on 19 September clipped the side of a terminal building at the Glasgow Airport. According to a statement from the trio's publicist, the plane had already landed and was traveling at a very slow speed when a member of the airport's ground crew directed it in at a bad angle. No one was hurt in the mishap, and the Chicks intended to perform their scheduled concert in Glasgow Friday evening.
The group issued a statement shortly after the incident, saying, "There was a minor accident at the Glasgow airport and we are fine." A spokesperson for the airport confirmed that both the building and tip
of the plane's wing sustained minimal damage.（9月19日一架載有南方女子組合及工作人員的私人包機，從愛爾蘭的都柏林到達蘇格蘭的格拉斯哥機場後，飛機在處於低速滑行狀態時撞上了機場的出口建築物。據這三人樂隊的公共發言人説：當時飛機已經著陸，機場地面人員在一個位置不佳的角度進行指揮。

那麼每當提到加州旅店時，我相信很多人會好奇加州旅館在什麼地方，外觀看著是什麼樣的。在這裡我們找到了幾張照片，但只有一家“加州旅店”在美國，
它位於斯坦福大學附近。另一個“加州旅店”在哥斯達黎加，哥斯達黎加是北美洲的一個國家。第三個“加州旅店”在托多斯桑多斯。大家曾認為這就是歌中的旅店。但是我要告訴你這不是真的。因為就連旅店老闆後來也承認，在歌曲被唱紅的多年後他們才把這個旅店改名成加州旅店，因為這樣可以吸引更多的客人。

Obsess
obsess的意思是困擾、惦念、牽掛。總之，它是一種心裏感受，而且是一種不太好的心裏感受。obsess這個詞經常被用在被動語態中。比如
他經常被失業的恐懼困擾著。

sense
sense是感覺的意思。但在這裡是體會到、覺察到。是一個動詞。歌中唱到

我們最熟悉的是sense的名詞，指的是某種感官的感覺。比如説：

aware這個詞我們一般會這樣用

它的意思就是覺察到、體會到、意識到。
