South Korean President Lee Myung-bak has expressed deep grief over the death of Kim Dae-jung. He says through his spokesman that the nation has lost a great leader.

He also says the late president's passion forunification and democracy will remain in South Koreans' memories for a long time. He says he he prays for the late leader's soul and expresses deep condolence for his family.
