Afghan villagers killed in airstrike

Residents in the southern Afghan village of Kowuk are claiming that a pre-dawn air strike by international troops killed three boys and a man.

Two other men were injured and were transported to a hospital in Kandahar.

The US military said it could not confirm any civilian fatalities, but did confirm the deaths of four motorcycle-riding insurgents in the area near Kowuk.
