Trail for Mumbai attacker continues

The trial of the lone surviving gunman in the Mumbai attacks will continue despite his surprise admission of guilt.

21-year-old Ajmal Kasab unexpectedly confessed on Monday to taking part in the November 2008 attack that killed 166 people.

The judge hearing the case in a special court has accepted Kasab's confession as evidence.

However, he ordered the trial to continue because the accused did not address all the charges against him. The young Pakistani faces 86 charges, including murder and conspiracy to wage war against India.
