NEW DELHI, July 20 (Xinhua) -- Mohammed Ajmal Amir alias Kasab, the only terrorist caught alive in Mumbai terror attacks last November, Monday pleaded guilty to his crimes before the special court trying him, sources said.
"Kasab told the court that he came to Mumbai on the night of November 26 by boat along with nine accomplices and owned up his involvement in the terrorist strikes at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus and nearby Cama hospital in south Mumbai," the sources said, adding that Kasab narrated the whole incident to the court.
Kasab has also named Zakhi-ur Lakhvi as the mastermind behind the November 26 attacks which claimed the lives of over 170 people, including foreign nationals.
Meanwhile, Indian Special Public Prosecutor Ujjal Nikam told the media that he and his team finally managed to bring out the truth in front of the whole world.
"Kasab's confession is a big victory for prosecution," he said, adding that the prosecution would now demand capital punishment for Kasab.
Reacting to Kasab's confession, the Chief Minister of the western Indian state of Maharashtra said: "All those involved in the attacks should be hanged to death."
India has charged Kasab with 302 crimes, including waging war against the state, for his involvement in the Mumbai terror attacks.
