More than 200 people have been killed and hundreds more injured in the terrorist attacks in Pakistan this year. The Taliban movement and other militant groups have carried out at least 9 major attacks since February in northwestern Pakistan. They have targeting government departments and security agencies.

On March 30, they attacked a police training center in Lahore, resulting in at least 25 deaths and 95 wounded. The Pakistani military launched a military operation in late April in the Swat Valley, killing hundreds of militants. But that failed to stop terrorist attacks.

More than 300 people were killed and injured in bomb attacks within a week in Lahore, Peshawar and other cities since May 27.
