South Korean Foreign Minister met with US senior officials in Seoul to discuss the nuclear situation on the Korean peninsula.

Yu Myung-hwan held talks with US Deputy Secretary of State, James Steinberg, and the US special envoy for DPRK, Stephen Bosworth. The meeting came as the UN Security Council considers measures that will punish the North for carrying out a nuclear test last week.

Steinberg said the two countries were determined to work together to bring the DPRK back to the dialogue table. The talks also came as reports suggest that the DPRK is preparing to test-fire a barrage of missiles from both coasts.
