And Russia's Defense Ministry has confirmed the DPRK's nuclear test. The Russian military has estimated it had a force of up to 20 kilotons - a size comparable to the bomb that flattened the Japanese city of Nagasaki at the end of World War Two.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov speaking in Lebanon before the confirmation, said Moscow was concerned about the reports.

Sergey Lavrov, Russian Foreign Minister, said, "We are naturally concerned over the report that the DPRK carried out an explosion of a nuclear device. These reports have come from Pyongyang. We also naturally, rely on the need to double check these reports."
