Japan's Coast Guard has issued a warning to Japanese ships after receiving a message issued by the DPRK banning ships from an area of the Sea of Japan.
The warning says vessels should not enter an area 60 kilometers of the coast of Wonsan in the DPRK and 100 kilometers out into the sea.
Japan says the move could suggest the DPRK is planning to launch more short-range missiles.
Takeo Kawamura, Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary, said, "It's not known yet why the DPRK gave us the message, but we think it could be related to their possible plan to launch more missiles, including ballistic missiles, in response to developments of the UN Security Council and other moves."
