Special Report:   2007 Spring Festival

"A Merry and Harmonious New Year" -- that's this year's name for CCTV's well-known spring festival gala.

From classical music to kung fu, from comic double acts to acrobatics -- the show has got it all. Backed by completely new stage designs and a gigantic screen, the gala will unite, on television, China's diverse ethnic groups. Performers from Tibet, for instance, will showcase their traditional songs and dances.

But in addition to the ever popular CCTV spring festival gala, which will be broadcast live on the eve of the Lunar New Year, an opera special and a variety show are also being produced in advance. Together, the three programs will offer viewers the most delightful evening yet on television.
