Investigation of SARS source continues

An investigation into the source of the recent SARS cases in southern China has been continuing. The World Health Organization and China's Ministry of Health held a news conference on Friday in Guangzhou to report on the latest developments in their study.

The experts said they have gathered more samples from Guangzhou's largest animal market, and from the residences of China's only confirmed SARS patient and the other two suspected cases. Samples taken from the restaurant where one of the two suspected SARS patients works returned a positive result for the virus.

There have been no conclusive results so far for tests on the samples taken from the animal market. But the health experts say they can not totally rule out a possible connection between poultry and the deadly disease.
