Taiwan's disease control authority says the island's SARS patient's fever is gone and he is out of danger now.

The number of people who were in contact with the patient has reached 70, with one's whereabouts still unknown. Taiwan will make more efforts to prevent the SARS virus from moving outside of work areas. Researchers and medical staff at virus research labs are not allowed to leave the island if they have done virus-related work within ten days of departure.

Meanwhile, Hong Kong health official confirmed Friday that seven elderly female patients who developed fever in a local hospital have not come down with SARS.

The official said the Health Department has checked the passenger list of the flight which carried the Taiwan SARS patient last Wednesday. He said no Hong Kong permanent residents were included.
