Special Report: Strong Quake Hits Haiti |

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has paid his second visit to Haiti, since January's devastating earthquake.

He met with Haitian President Rene Preval to discuss plans for a UN donors conference, that will fund Haiti's reconstruction. The UN has launched an appeal to raise 1.4 billion US dollars for Haiti. Later, the UN chief toured a makeshift camp that housed 40-thousand quake survivors in Port-au-Prince. Ban said the UN's top priority will be to protect women and young girls. There have been reports of rape in the crowded camps. Ban told Haitians that the world would not forget the dire situation in their country.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said, "I've come here for the second time to express my solidarity with the Haitian people telling them that we are here to help you and the international community will not forget you."
