Arab nations have opened the door for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to enter four months of indirect peace talks with Israel.
The talks, which are likely to begin later this month, would break a 15-month freeze in peace negotiations.
The Arab League held a meeting in Cairo attended by 14 Arab League foreign ministers to discuss a US proposal of proximity talks aimed to end the impasse between Israelis and Palestinians over the conditions for resuming negotiations.
