South Korea and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea have restored a military hotline at a western section of their border.
The line was suspended last May by the DPRK, which cited "technical problems" involving aging optical cables.
Chun Hae-Sung, Spokesman of S. Korean Unification Ministry, said, "Wednesday, South Korea and the DPRK militaries decided to normalize operation of the hotline between authorities of the western-side of the line after a test Tuesday."
