ISLAMABAD, Jan. 6 (Xinhua) -- Missiles fired from a U.S drone hit a house killing four people on Wednesday, the second strike in a day in Pakistan's tribal region of North Waziristan, locals said.
Two missiles were fired on a house in Datta Khel area, also injuring two other people, they said. Official sources said that suspected militants were targeted in the strike.
Earlier on Wednesday, three people were killed as a suspected U.S. spy aircraft fired two missiles at Miranshah in North Waziristan bordering Afghanistan, killing three and injuring five others.
Last Thursday, a senior Pakistani Taliban commander Haji Omar Khan and three other people killed in a drone attack near Mir Ali, a main town in North Waziristan tribal region.
U.S. unmanned Predator aircraft regularly conduct strikes in Waziristan tribal region despite objection by Pakistan.
The U.S had stepped up attacks inside Pakistan's tribal areas last year and the new year started with an early morning strike.
Pakistan opposes the strikes but Washington believes that Al-Qaeda remnants and Taliban militants are planning attacks across the border in Afghanistan.
