In the curling of the Harbin Winter Universiade, China's men's curling team have made a breakthrough by finishing third after beating Soth Korea. While in the women's semi-finals, China thrashed Russia 11-2 to book a place in final. They will challenge the unbeaten Canadians for the gold medal.

China's men's curling team have made a breakthrough by finishing  third after beating Soth Korea.

In the two-hour-and-a-half competition, China lead South Korea 5-3 in the first five ends. The hosts continued to expand their advantage and went on to post a 9-5 victory to take the men's curling bronze medal.

China took a relatively easy path to breeze into the women's curling final. China have defeated Russia in the round robin stage and had confidence to beat them again in the semi-finals. China scored each point in the first two ends. In the third end, China have five stones in the center circle but Russia's last shot missed any of them to give China a massive 5 points. China have never looked back from then on and claimed the win 11-2 after just 7 ends. China will meet Canada in the final. The will have a dauting task since Canada are unbeaten throng the Universiade.
