Half way through 2007, some of the venues for next year's Beijing Olympics have already been put to use for test events.

Other venues are in the final stages of construction, and Beijing is making great efforts to guarantee a safe games.

Beijing Olympic Organizing committee, BOCOG says that last week's fire at the Olympic table tennis venue in Beijing will not affect the timing of the test event there, to be held in December.
