Polling stations are being readied in southern Afghanistan's Helmand Province for Thursday's presidential and provincial council elections.
US marines escorted trucks laden with ballot boxes and other equipment. An Independent Election Commission spokesperson in Helmand says all necessary polling equipment has arrived.
Abdul Hadi Dawari, Head of Independent Election Commision, Heland Province, said, "All the election materials have already arrived here and now we are sending them to different districts. We will send some by air and some by truck conveys. We have already loaded the trucks and will start sending today and the ones going by air have arrived at the airport and ISAF will deliver them."
