Special Report: Iran presidential election 09 |
US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton reiterated that the US foreign policy toward Iran will not change based on the outcome of the recent controversial election.
Clinton said the Obama administration considers the dialogue with Iran over its nuclear and other related issues to be in the interest of the US and the international community. Clinton said that it was for the people of Iran to determine how they resolve the protest surrounding the outcome of the election.
On Wednesday, Iran's Foreign Ministry summoned the Swiss ambassador, who represents US interests in Tehran, to protest what they called interventionist statements by the US regarding the country's election. But the US White House and the State Department have denied that move or any other meddling by the US.
