Supporters of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad have also held massive rallies in central Tehran.

Thousands of pro-Ahmadinejad Iranians gathered at the Vali Asr Square.

They chanted slogans in support of the president while inviting supporters of defeated presidential candidate Mir Hossein Mousavi to join in national unity.

Many urged Mousavi to accept his failure in the election. The demonstrators also protested against recent riots in the country.
