The World Health Organization says it's monitoring countries in Europe and in Asia for increases in the flu's transmission.
And it has promised to pay close attention to three countries in particular: Spain, Britain, and Japan. Spain and Britain have had the highest numbers of confirmed cases in Europe, reporting 103 and 101 cases respectively.
On Sunday, Japan reported a one-day explosion of 93 cases, mostly among teenagers.
Gregory Hartl, WHO Spokesman, said, "We need to watch any country that has all of a sudden more cases, to determine if the cases are imported if they are circulating within a confined situation or if they are actually community level transmission."
