According to the municipal public security bureau, armed police and equipment such as metal detectors and security scanners, will be posted at road checkpoints. These measures have been put in place to restrict suspect and dangerous cargo from entering the Olympic host city.

All vehicles with licenses registered outside Beijing are subject to security checks at these checkpoints. They can only enter the city with road-entry certificates and valid documents.
