Cameroon suffered a mauling from of reigning champions Egypt in its opening Group C African Cup of Nations match on Tuesday. Two goals each from Hosni Abd Rabo and Mohamed Zidan allowed The "Pharaohs" to dominate the match, and calm fears of a late comeback from the West African side.

Cameroon did restore some pride to the scoreboard with two goals from Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o in the second half, but the 4-2 win lifts Egypt to the top of the group with a three-point lead. They now face Sudan on Saturday, with Cameroon facing Zambia.
