Late goal gives Australia draw with Oman

Debutants and pre-tournament favorites Australia were looking to make a winning start against Oman in their Asian Cup Group A clash.

But Oman proved to be no pushovers and shocked the Socceroos with Badar Mubarak's goal in the 32nd minute.

The Socceroos waited until injury before finally pulling level.

Oman keeper Ali dived to block an effort from Mark Bresciano but was powerless to stop Tim Cahill firing home from close range.

That result means all four teams in Group A now have one point each.
