A series of cultural activities will be held during the Spring festival to showcase the upcoming Beijing Olympics.
With just over a week to go before the Spring festival, Beijing's Municipal Bureau of Culture has already unveiled plans for the new year. The organization's deputy director, Wang Zhu explained that 2007 is a crucial year for the Olympic Games.
He said the nine temple fairs and three lantern shows that traditionally take place during the festival will have an Olympic theme.
