The number of confirmed A/H1N1 cases on the Chinese mainland has risen to 58. Two provinces have reported nine new infections.

Guangdong in the south confirmed four patients, who arrived from overseas. Fujian in the east discovered five cases. Two were locally transmitted, the first in the province. Hong Kong has reported one more infection, bringing its total to 27.

Meanwhile, two patients infected via close contact with a confirmed case in Guangdong have recovered. They were the Mainland's first two cases of local transmission.
