The Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention says it has successfully segregated a strain of the A/H1N1 influenza virus and captured its genome sequence.

Shu Yuelong, the director of the Chinese National Influenza Center based in the CDC, says that the research on the strain obtained from the mainland's first human case proved that the virus has not mutated from the kind found in donated viruses. He promised that China would share the information about the virus strains with other researchers around the world.
