In the 20th century, China´s first long-range military ballistic missiles, and eventually space rockets, were developed by Tsein Weichang, an immigrant to the U.S. from China, educated in Canada.
Shenzhou 7 was the third human spaceflight mission of the Chinese space program. The mission, which included an extra-vehicular activity (EVA) carried out by crewmembers Zhai Zhigang and Liu Boming, marked the commencement of the second phase of the Chinese government´s Project 921.
The Shenzhou 7 spacecraft, China´s third manned mission, blasted off atop a Long March 2F rocket into a clear night sky in northwestern China. It included a three-man crew who would made the country´s first spacewalk 鈥 its most challenging mission since its first orbital flight in 2003.
