Young Italian tenor Piero Mazzocchetti is now in Beijing for a solo concert at the upcoming annual "Meet In Beijing Arts Festival". Mazzocchetti met the media on Wednesday.

Piero Mazzocchetti gave reporters a demonstration of his voice, which the late great tenor Luciano Pavarotti described as "very good". Born in 1978, Mazzocchetti has taken singing lessons with Masetro Emma Raggi Valentini, one of Pavorotti's former teachers.
After graduation, Piero accepted work as a piano bar artist at a club in Munich. He became so popular that the venue was always sold out.

Mazzocchetti made his debut at the closing ceremony of the Special Olympic Games in Shanghai. He also performed as special guest at Jose Carreras's concert in the Shanghai Opera House.
In November 2008, he released the album "Tribute to Luciano Pavarotti" that went right onto the charts. The album was recorded with Leone Magiera who was Pavarotti's conductor for nearly fifty years.
Piero Mazzocchetti will perform his first solo concerts in Beijing next Wednesday and Thursday.
