Sometimes dubbed as "Asia's Hawaii" Hainan Island has been developing eco tourism over the past decade. The island boasts excellent air quality, clean water and the chance for a healthy lifestyle.
This free teahouse is popular among the elderly people of Huangzhu village. Every day, about 50 people spend their time here. More than ten of them are over 90 years old.

Huangzhu village is not alone. The average life expectancy on Hainan Island is about 75 years. Sunshine, fresh air, beaches and trees are helping the island become as one of Asia's healthiest places. Sanya city and the capital Haikou are in the top ten cities with the world's best air quality.

The clean environment is the perfect place for physical and mental relaxation. Chinese traditional medical treatment is also popular in Sanya city. Children who survived Russia's Beslan School hostage crisis in 2006 received treatment in Sanya. In 2008, 80 children who survived the Wenchuan earthquake had also received psychological treatment on the island.
Hainan province began building an eco-tourism industry ten years ago. The eastern part of the island is developing tourism, while the western part targeting environmentally-friendly industries. Every month, about 30-thousand tourists come to get in touch with the natural beauty of Hainan island.
