The National Intangible Cultural Heritage Technique Exhibition has wrapped up in Beijing. For two weeks, visitors got to see over a hundred time-honored practices. It was a chance for the younger generation to get know their traditional culture.

Both objects and techniques provide a comprehensive guide to the essence of Chinese culture. The seven-stringed Guqin formed the foundation of Chinese musical tradition. In 2003, it was listed by UNESCO as an "Oral and tangible intangible heritage of humanity." The guqin also featured at the opening ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

The intangible culture heritage exhibition sparked the enthusiasm of not only Chinese, but also visitors from abroad. Some European artists and collectors say they were amazed and greatly inspired by the exquisite craftsmanship of the exhibits.
