The second Islam Expo opened it's doors at London's Olympia. There are over 150 stalls, highlighting the growing diversity of Britain's Islamic community. Displays cover arts, culture, cuisine, and fashion. Muslims from all sections of the community are coming together to underline the role Muslims play in modern British Society.
Distributed throughout the expo are depictions and recreations of the Islamic world. There's a model of the Dome of the Rock, in Jerusalem, Islam's third holiest shrine. There are examples of craftsmanship like brass work. Expression is given to contemporary Islamic ideals, emphasizing the importance of the Muslim faith to it's followers. Young people were welcomed to the event as a means of dispelling myths about the Islamic faith and to guide them to an understanding of what Islam is really all about.
