The Shan Hai Guan Pass, located in the seaside city of Qinhuangdao, is the eastern end of the Great Wall. The Pass has just completed a year long renovation.

The Shan Hai Guan Pass, located in the seaside city of Qinhuangdao, is the eastern end of the Great Wall. The Pass has just completed a year long renovation.

The restoration focused on the six-thousand metre section of the Great Wall. Two hundred million yuan equaling 28-million US dollars was poured into the project.

To maintain the authenticity of the appearance, the project engaged twenty five archeological experts to consult in the construction work. The Shan Hai Guan Pass section is the first to be restored in a restoration project encompassing the entire Great Wall.
